Just a bit here and there with my daughter, things get busy this time of year but I did take the time out to make my daughter a pencil holder since she goes through a pencil a day.
I made this with a Folgers coffee can. I have posted this type of thing before from last year, this time hot glueing a little ribbon to the top, from My Life in Arts n Crafts Facebook page, she sells her twine jute and ribbon there. I used DCWV page from one of their last year’s holiday stacks! Fun Fun, can’t wait to craft again!
In the mean time I thought I would pop in and say hi! I am still here, got our Christmas tree up today. We are the kind of people who don’t decorate til later because we like the tree to stay alive til’ New Year’s day. I have some gift giving crafts I can’t post just yet, but will sure do!
Not alot there Cindy, don’t go to wild! Merry Christmas anyway!
Now for a little kid crafting we made some Christmas trees with coffee filters.
I had this huge cone from making trees a couple of years ago, I couldn’t find it after seeing this tutorial on Pinterest on coffee filter cones this morning, thought it would be easy enough for me and my 6-year-old to do. I got creative and used Ice Cream Cones instead!
When you get to the top you may want to make your skirt a little smaller. I finished it off with a star from Julianna’s digital kit, “Light’s Camera, Action” I had left over from making a card earlier this week. Or you can use glitter paper as well. I hope you have enjoyed this bit of kid crafting if you have kids to craft with! I should have gone a little further and put some bling, twine and all kinds of stuff on it, but she bailed on me! Until next time, have a wonderful 17 days left before Christmas! The crazy time of year!
Welcome to the Scraps to Treasure’s Blog hop themed “Altered Items”
Your host today is Robin from Scrap and Chat, moving right along I am going to make this quick and simple, don’t laugh at me because I am just to silly.. I altered a envelope box so it looked pretty!
I found some glue stick at the dollar store and had to try it on something to see how I like it, so I used this paper that I never could imagine using on anything at all then just added ribbon. Cute!
Then, this crazy girl was at the dollar store and went nut looking for a good gel pen and had to buy a notebook to try them out! They are so convenient to have but they are not so pretty. So when I got home I “Altered” it to my liking.
I hope you have enjoyed my posts… until next time.

Buttercups and daisies
Oh the pretty flowers,
Coming ere the springtime
To tell of sunny hours.
While the trees are leafless,
While the fields are bare,
Buttercups and daisies
Spring up here and there.
I do love flowers, my favorite of all kind (wierd I know) is the assortment from the grocery store. A couple of bunches of those cheer my day.
But these tissue flowers turned out cute, I may give them to a friend who has been having a bad week, to cheer him up 🙂
Wow, what an easy craft to make, using the tissue from the dollar store. No not toilot tissue, just tissue that you use to wrap gifts with 😉 I had a bunch left over from our family reunion last summer after making craft balls. I ironed it, made 5×7 rectangles and the started the accordion fold. Folded it in half then put a pipe cleaner in between and wrapped it tight,. Then gradually you just start pulling the tissue out one by one. You can make choppy edges, smooth edges, I did the wavy on the yellow and clipped the ends on the other colors. The cute little ice cream dish made a perfect vase. I had a ton of tissue left over after making some craft balls last summer for the family reunion, maybe this year I will have to make center pieces.
I hope you have enjoyed my project today, enough to leave a little love. Our host is having a giveaway and a variety of blogs may be offering some blog candy as well, they all have their own wishes for you to win on their own blog, so don’t forget to read the rules for each crafter has different requirements if they are offering any extra’s.
Yes along with more product, more post so here we are with a little jute ribbon inspiration from My Life in Arts n Crafts Store. Today I am going for a little home decor, using the jute ribbon again, it is so pretty. I wrapped this candle with it, with two different colors and stuck a brad abovethe bow to give it a little more interest, I also love perals.
I just love my beautiful candle!
It looks very Valentinish as the holiday is approaching! If you would like to do a little home decor like this, Jessi has some in her Etsy Shop ready to order, she also has other kinds of jute, twine and more. Hello everyone! Today we are giving our once a month hop a twist this month. I am just doing a regular design team post today. For the My life in Arts n Crafts Store, you should check it out, to see more projects on our
Christmas Creations with Jute and Twine.
As for my project today, I have created an Advent Calendar. Using my the cut outs from one of my newest stacks from DCWV, Evergreen. Such a cute stack, so many possibilities! Well they have these cut outs, perfect for an Advent calendar. For every season I try to change my 12×12 frames I have, according to the holiday or season. This time I stripped the mat out and added wide strips of ribbon.
Getting creative all on my own I was really challenging myself on this one since I didn’t use a sketch or spin off of someone else’s idea I just kept creating.
After putting the thick bands of white and red down, I didn’t want the look of a flag, I wanted the candy cane effect so I used the twine from My life in Arts n Crafts Store.
Strips of pretty papers from the stack to match the colors, (great for scraps too!) I thought it turned out pretty easy to do and so pretty for the holidays. I used Make the Cut software to match up some of the shapes, and hand cut the rest. Pop dots for dimension too! I hope you have enjoyed this project! You can go to her store to see all the other projects as well. Thank you for stopping by, I sure would love to hear your COMMENTS if you have any, it is always nice to hear the encouraging words of others. Will you be making an advent calendar this year?? I would love to see it, if you leave me your post link, I will check it out!
I hope it is a wonderful season this year for everyone!
