As Valentine approaches many crafty things can be made. Ashley from The Blog Hop Princess decided to have this
To give you inspiration for the big day. If you have stumbled upon the hop you can start with Ashley’s blog (link provided above) if you are already moving around and you came from Mother and Daughter Designs, you are in the right spot. I know Ashley is giving out some goodies so be sure to stop by there and check out her give away!
As for my project today, my kinder will need a mail box for her class valentine party. Recently my friend and I got together and did a bunch of Valentine crafts, this was one of them! She has all her Valentine cards all ready to go, the teacher provided pictures of the classmates in place of the names for easier passing them out, so I did the the same in the To and From for all her valentine cards to give out! Super cute!
I am sure she will receive many Valentine cards that will say “Be Mine” in her box.
Yes along with more product, more post so here we are with a little jute ribbon inspiration from My Life in Arts n Crafts Store. Today I am going for a little home decor, using the jute ribbon again, it is so pretty. I wrapped this candle with it, with two different colors and stuck a brad abovethe bow to give it a little more interest, I also love perals.
I just love my beautiful candle!
It looks very Valentinish as the holiday is approaching! If you would like to do a little home decor like this, Jessi has some in her Etsy Shop ready to order, she also has other kinds of jute, twine and more. If you would like to see more inspirational projects with her line she is only a click away at www.mylifeinartsncrafts.com.
Umpa. Umpa. Umpa. We are celebrating National Polka Day but adding a twist. Polka is to music and to DOT so we have created things that have POLKA DOTS on them. How fun! Instead of making Polka music our talented crafters have made things with dots on them.
Start with Lorby’s World (http://lorbysworld.blogspot.com/) and don’t forget to leave a comment and become a follower of hers because she’s giving away something or other.
So , here is my take on the polka dot theme. I am on vacation and didn’t have to many crafty polka-dotted things with me so I started in Photoshop making my own polka dot papers and just dotted away!
I never realized there were so many ways to make polka dots look different! Using Photoshop Cs5 , some downloaded seamless patterns, shapes and brushes I made this 2 page layout completely filled with polka-dots!
Thank you for stopping by and I hope that you have enjoyed my project. If you would like to win this layout, whether you want me to fill it with your pictures for you or if you want me to send it to you and you can fill it yourself, all you have to do is make a comment letting me know what you like about it. I am going to start doing some Photoshop tutorials, one of them will be on how to make your own papers in Photoshop. If you would like to stay tuned and not miss it you can subscribe to my blog via email or through network blogs. If not and want to just leave a comment I would LOVE to hear what you have to say about this digital creation I have made from scratch. I do know people have strong opinions whether they like digital or not, but I like a mix of both because each has its own special thing about it.
Here is the FULL line up for the hop in case you need it to go back and forth between blogs…
If you made it to the hop this weekend we will have a winner early this week. I haven’t been able to be on the computer much tonight to check out all the contributors.
Ok, I admit I have alot of these little tickets just out of one paper pack! Crazy! For what didn’t get posted in the frame from the Ticket to Love Blog hop, I made these little cards out of the premade valentine card page in the KC & Company paper pack. I had to do something with them!
I have sooo many more to show you but no time to photograph them! Some are embossed some have ribbon some have brads. They turned out so cute! My pictures have been turning out blurry after sizing them to the web when they never had before, I don’t know why, anyway, I am going to a shop tomorrow that sells handmade things to see if she would like to sell my things too! It has been a very crafty weekend for me, I am taking tomorrow night off and spending it with my kids! I feel sooooo guilty! Well my son was involved in super bowl today and I did try to make a paper sack puppet with my 4-year-old, but she wandered off wanting me to do it all. lol… Tomorrow we may just have to finish it!
Have a great week, and hope to see your awesome comments in this post!
Welcome or welcome back to our Valentine themed hop. I hope you have enjoyed our projects if you were here yesterday seeing all the new inspiration, entering in for the blog candy. I am going to make this post short but sweet, here is the line up in case you get lost.
Now as for my project today, I have been going bonkers making these little valentine treats. I thought I would open up an etsy store with my new calendars and treats and so far nothing has sold and it has been two or three weeks. Soooo I guess I will have to start going door to door, lol.
I have also made these little pocket/purse notebooks for valentine it is great for any theme.
Making so many different styles and colors of papers these great to make. I just cut some copy paper 3×7 and wrapped it in 3×10 (tri-fold) double-sided KC& company papers and added embellishments. I also bought a strip of velcro on clearance at Joanns so I cut up some skinny strips and they have a closure. I love them but next time I am making them with post-it notes… much cleaner look on the inside.
Kinda funny I never really knew why I would use the George Basic Shapes charm feature for, but I finally had opportunity and took it.
Now for the blog candy I have described in Day 1’s post. For the ones who follow my blog (if you are already a follower I will know, just mention it in the post to save time) and comment on the this post will win some free Photoshop graphics. I am happy to see that you have stopped by or stumbled upon our “Ticket to Love” day one of a two-day hop. I am very excited about this hop since this is the first one I have hosted, after one year of blogging, I finally got the courage! The ladies hosting in the hop will have lots of inspiration, blog candy and more..then they will also provide the link to the blog before them and the link to the blog after them at the end of their post, so it will be an easy transition for you. If you like tabbed browsing, when you click on the links here, it will open in a new tab so you can keep this tab open and if you need to come back for any reason, the line up will be here for you.
Now for my inspirational project. I had posted some Halloween frames and got raves and reviews on those frames more than any other post. Well, of course it isn’t Halloween year around so I took them down and now working on converting to Valentine. The picture just does not do it justice without natural light, I did have to photograph the frame without the glass to prevent glare.
I used poster board for the background and then covered it with a KC&Company Valentine paper the I bought last year. I have just been in love with this paper since I saw it, and I thought this was the perfect way to display it, you will see more tomorrow. Using the sweetheart cartridge, I added two cupids at two different sizes. Flipped one and welded them together. I believe it was Home Accent for the font.
Now for the fabulous blog candy I am giving away today, I will have a drawing for all the followers who love to take the time out to tell me how awesome my project and my blog is (lol) YOU will be eligible to win some free Photoshop graphics. There is a choice for any size up to a 12×12 digi scrapbook layout put together by me. Sometimes I use digital paper packs, but most of the time I create my own work for all my digi layouts. This is for you to add to your album or to print and put in a frame on your wall. You can have as many pics as you want on the layout, I only suggest keeping it the same theme, but I do need the highest resolution of picture you have. You can have any theme you want, whatever you would like, I will create it for you since you LOVE my work, lol. I crack myself up!
Are you not interested in a layout? Maybe you are a blogger and would love to have a button on your side bar that say’s,
Or just a button for a blog hop you are hosting, it is up to you.
I am giving one free graphic for each day so be sure to come back on both days to come and see our fun inspirational projects and relax for a while.
At the top right of this page, there is a subscription box where you can fill in your email address and this will enter you to win.
I had network blogs but I am not blog savvy enough, and have no way of tracking who you are so I have to stick with the word press subscriptions
or email subscriptions for you to be entered in the give away. Good Luck!
