Welcome to the Scraps to Treasure’s Blog hop themed “Altered Items”
Your host today is Robin from Scrap and Chat, moving right along I am going to make this quick and simple, don’t laugh at me because I am just to silly.. I altered a envelope box so it looked pretty!
I found some glue stick at the dollar store and had to try it on something to see how I like it, so I used this paper that I never could imagine using on anything at all then just added ribbon. Cute!
Then, this crazy girl was at the dollar store and went nut looking for a good gel pen and had to buy a notebook to try them out! They are so convenient to have but they are not so pretty. So when I got home I “Altered” it to my liking.
I hope you have enjoyed my posts… until next time.
Hello everyone! Today we are giving our once a month hop a twist this month. I am just doing a regular design team post today. For the My life in Arts n Crafts Store, you should check it out, to see more projects on our
Christmas Creations with Jute and Twine.
As for my project today, I have created an Advent Calendar. Using my the cut outs from one of my newest stacks from DCWV, Evergreen. Such a cute stack, so many possibilities! Well they have these cut outs, perfect for an Advent calendar. For every season I try to change my 12×12 frames I have, according to the holiday or season. This time I stripped the mat out and added wide strips of ribbon.
Getting creative all on my own I was really challenging myself on this one since I didn’t use a sketch or spin off of someone else’s idea I just kept creating.
After putting the thick bands of white and red down, I didn’t want the look of a flag, I wanted the candy cane effect so I used the twine from My life in Arts n Crafts Store.
Strips of pretty papers from the stack to match the colors, (great for scraps too!) I thought it turned out pretty easy to do and so pretty for the holidays. I used Make the Cut software to match up some of the shapes, and hand cut the rest. Pop dots for dimension too! I hope you have enjoyed this project! You can go to her store to see all the other projects as well. Thank you for stopping by, I sure would love to hear your COMMENTS if you have any, it is always nice to hear the encouraging words of others. Will you be making an advent calendar this year?? I would love to see it, if you leave me your post link, I will check it out!
I hope it is a wonderful season this year for everyone!
Sundays are quick and easy posts for me sooo I will get to the details right away.
Remember in Day One how I talked about how you can do anything with these papers to make some things pretty, bookcases as dividers and such? Well for my project today I made another divider to put on my desk, a little more to help cover the ugly’s go away. It doesn’t hide everything but it helps.
I took the same papers to match, Heirloom Stack from DCWV and made an accordion card to go behind my monitor, a cute little basket behind it that my kids are “allowed” to dig through of crafty scissors and other things but my 5-year-old just hasn’t got the hit that is her invisible line when it comes to my crafts, lol..
Maybe some day I may put frames and pictures in the accordion (it is double-sided with papers) but I just love it the way it is so for now, so this is my project! I put it together by using poster board from the dollar store, modge podge and just sizing the squares how I wanted them. Covering the pretty papers with the coordinated sizes of blocks. Where the modge podge came in, is the creases. I didn’t want them separating so putting a little glue under them helped them stay together when they bend.

Thank you for stopping by the “Think in Pink Blog Hop” and I would also like to thank Jessi at My life in Arts and Crafts for posting this wonderful hop to sign up for! We have became friends since and she has also signed up with us on our monthly hops we have at the first of the month, soon to be announced as the “Crazy Crafting Crew” and she is an amazing crafter as well. If you have stumbled upon the hop just click on her link to her blog and start from the beginning, she is giving away blog candy and other blogs are as well, but everyone has their own rules and requirements. If you are in the middle of the hop as I am, you have just arrived from Ester’s blog at For the Joy of Creating. I hope you have enjoyed yourself so far, now here is more to come…
My project I have for you today is an accordion wall hanging. This is got to be one of the hardest crafting pictures I have ever taken. I was doing it in the window light of my craftroom/dining room/office through the available light from the sliding glass doors. Then I got his great idea after a month of trying every now and then to make it look good to actually give it to the person who I made it for, and put it in Abby’s room. Her walls are pink, Why not? Well you can’t see it close up so I did some snaps for you and wala here is an accordion album with the DCWV Preppy Princess Stack, and the little cut outs they provide. I matted them for a frame. To make the accordion, I just cut 5 inch strips and folded them evenly, overlapped the ends (so one whole back is on one whole front x2). How cute is that for a little girls room? If I could get away with it I would put it in my room!
We cannot display this gallery
I hope you have enjoyed my project and if you have a boy or girl you can do the same with a different paper packs in blue. I love using those cut outs for cards and anything, it is a shame not to use them.

Ok, off with the soap box and I am going to show you my first attempt to making real paper flowers. I am almost embarrassed to show you after what I have seen from these girls, but I am still loving’ my little flowers I intended making for my daughter but they were such a pain, I kept them for myself. LoL
Here is take two I like to leave a spot on my hutch for my crafts, the rest of it is filled with stacks and storaged scrapbook stuff.
This hop has inspired me to buy a flower project cartridge, because I just cut these out with my fiskar scissors in a spiral and rolled them up. I didn’t know how to glue them well. I used colorful pipe cleaner things from the dollar store for the centers and stems. My Life in Arts and Crafts she is the 8th blog on the list, she has a wonderful video tutorial on this right under our hop.
Again, thank you for stopping by I would love to hear your comments, any tips will be helpful too. Her is the line up for you in case you need to navigate.
I hope you enjoy the hop. Did I mention that I am giving away digital graphics for blog candy? See Day 1 for details if you haven’t. You do not have to comment both days, but on both post, I love a good critique! If you use a different email than what you comment with, please shoot me an email through kontact me on the side bar so you don’t get left out.
Yes it is the beginning of the month again, it comes up on us so quickly. Welcome to our Flowers, Flowers, everywhere Flowers Hop. We are having some fun showing off anything that has to do with the beauty and colors of spring. Kick back and enjoy, some of us will be having some blog candy and all of us will have great inspiration.
I will begin with the blog line up in case you get lost or want to review a project over again, you can always come back here as your links will open in its own tab.
So for my project today, my frames have been very popular I thought I would redo them AGAIN, and I do apologize you can’t see the little ones well but I have done the Spring Theme.
Oh how lucky I am,
getting to show the world my cluttery space!
I used the DCWV Flower Shower stack to decorate the frames, the vinyl project was already there. I have a huge hole in my wall from some electrical thing where the top frame is on the left. NOONE hangs pics that high, so I had to get creative and figure out a way to cover it. Some day it will come to me and be more tactful. If you have any ideas I would LOVE to hear them from my awesome crafty friends!
So… onto your next stop with Card Monkey, she ALWAYs has awesome inspiration! Along with the rest of the team!
Have a wonderful weekend and don’t forget to enter for the blog candy!
P.S. I hope you have enjoyed my new blog layout. I hated the other and didn’t know how to customize it to my graphics, I finally found a way, now I am loud and proud because it is MY design. It’s a little pink but I will play with it now that I know how.
